brother killed by drunk driver in Hillsboro, OR( not her first time drinking/driving)

It was August 20, 2009. My brother Thai was driving after work to look at cars. He decided to take Germantown rd to get there. it is a dangerous, curvy road which the speed limit is 35 BUT people speed through there. The drunk had been drinking at a local restaurant and decided she hadn't had enough so was going to go into town to have more. she was speeding 75+ when she lost control of her car and hit the gravel she tried to overcompensate by jerking the wheel the other way and veered across the road head on into my brothers car which was pushed off the road into a ditch. bystanders ran to help and pulled him out of his car which was on fire. they tried cpr until the ambulance got there, he wasn't able to be saved. she also died at the scene. My brother was 34 yrs old with 3 kids and many friends and family. She had a previous DUI and went to court ordered classes to not repeat her offense, obviously it wasn't a deterrent.
My family hasn't been the same since and my mom has lost her zest for life. :(

I appreciate your empathy and Im so sorry for your loss as well. It is devastating and an avoidable sad waste. I will keep you in my prayers as well. It seems people only have sympathy for the victims/survivors if they have been directly affected by it.

I'm so sorry for your loss

Words aren't enough to express my feelings about your loss. My 13 year old daughter was killed by a drunk driver 12/16/2008. It has left a whole in our hearts. Losing a loved one is hard at any time but losing one so needlessly is worse. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
