Richard Paul Stevens of Tarrant County, Tx. killed in 1983 on his way to work

by Amy Henry Vera

I was only 10 years old when my uncle was stolen from our family by a drunk driver. It devastated my grandmother because she had already lost her husband at a young age and now, her only son as well. My mother and aunt also lost their only brother. Uncle Richard was working for Dr. Pepper and would ride his Harley which he loved, to work where he was a delivery driver. It was about 4:30 a.m. that he went to work every day. He was a Vietnam vet and survived war, but came home to be killed at the age of 30 by someone driving under the influence of alcohol. If you are the person who took his life or know who did, please know God has forgiven you if you have asked his forgiveness and I do too. We will see Richard again someday in Heaven and that brings us peace.
