My son Ryan who was only 9yrs old was killed in a car accident on April 10, 2011. The driver's BAL was 0.19 at 12:58 in the afternoon. My son was with his friend and his friends father driving to a softball tournament. They where making a left hand turn into the field when they where rear ended. The driver never even put on his breaks. They where pushed into on coming traffic and an SUV also hit there car. I was told my son was killed instantly, probably from his seat belt. Both kids had there seat belts on but dad did not. My son was in the back seat. His 11 yr old friend Max was just released from the hospital and he is in a wheelchair. We are hopefull that one day he will be able to walk again. His dad Max who was driving suffered many internal injuries. He was in the ICU for 12 days. He has a broke pelvis, back, neck, ribs, collarbone and many other injuries. He was just moved to a rehab on the 25th of May. He has 7 more weeks before he can try to walk and has to wear a neck brace for 3 more months. Father and son just saw each other for the first time on the 25th of May. It was very emotional. We are having a motorcycle run for my son on August 13th ( that was his lucky number)to raise money for the Wilson Reading Program to be put into his school. Ryan struggled in school until we sent him to the Cooper Learning Center where they tought the Wilson Program. We would also like to donate to Max and his father for whatever they may need for there long recovery. Ryan was a great baseball player, loved to ride his bike, scooter, and his quad.He had many friends and our little community has been so supportive.I would love to help or support your wonderful cause. Please let me know if it would be possible for a representive to come out to our event. You can go on facebook to see information and Ryan's page.

Thank you, Kim Schleyer
