Steven Joseph Barrett
by Amber
(OR now, LA then)
March of 2006 was the day I lost my Dad Steven Joseph Barrett.
He was out of town on business when a drunk driver took away his
life and my future. He was only 37 years
old when the taxi he was riding in was hit by a drunk driver. The
lady ran a red light and my Dad and the taxi driver both were killed.
I will never forget that phone call, for this was the worst day of my
life. If only someone would have taken the drunk drivers keys.
She (the drunk driver went to prison) however
she is out now, living her life and me I grew up with
out a Dad. No more baseball, fishing, camping and
the pain though it has lessened over the years will never go
away.
