Treyton Michael Kilar

(Whitewater)

On September 2, 2010, 6 year old Treyton Michael Kilar was killed by an alleged drunk driver. As he, his father, and two sisters drove home from a High School volleyball game, they were struck on Highway 20 and County Highway N in the Walworth County town of Troy. He is loved by his mother, father, three sisters, extended family and many many friends. Treyton loved baseball, everyone had hoped for him to be a Brewer one day, because he loved the game and sharing it with others. In memory of Trey the city of Whitewater will be constructing a "Treyton Kilar Field of Dreams." There have been many fundraisers such as a Benefit Concert, Play for Trey volleyball game, Play for Trey youth baseball game to provide donations to the field. Students at Whitewater High School came together and created a chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) in their own school. 189 students showed up to the first meeting. Everyone who knew Treyton always saw his beautiful smile. He could lighten anybody's day. I personally have many great memories of Trey, that will stick in my mind forever. Many communities have come together to keep Treytons memory alive, as he would be so blessed to know how many lives he touched in 6 short years.

Always think twice, if you've had a drink, hand over your keys. SAVE LIVES. Because you not only take a life, but you take the future that life holds.

Another senseless death
by: OfficerAmanda

I came to know Treyton's story through Connor's CaringBridge page. I was devastated to read the details of yet ANOTHER senseless death due to someone else's irresponsibility, lawlessness and complete disregard for other people's lives.

Treyton, we in law enforcement carry on our constant vigil to catch and prosecute people like your killer to the very best of our abilities. In your name and in the name of every other person who has fallen victim to this disgusting, reprehensible crime.

My heart and prayers are with your family.

Treyton was not my son, nor family member. But he was one of my best friends, brother. They have been doing all they can to keep Trey's memory alive, and everyone is contributing. They have entered a contest to receive a $250,000 grant towards Treyton's Field of Dreams which will be a little league baseball field constructed in Whitewater in Trey's honor. In order to receive this grant, they need to be in the top 2 spots. To do that they are asking everyone to vote on www.refresheverything.com/treytonkilar. It takes 2 minutes to sign up and vote. Also you can vote via facebook by joining the Pepsi page by simply clicking "like". Another way, and the easiest way to vote is through text message by texting 105500 to the number 73774. Please pass Treyton's message on and get anyone you know to vote! thanks for all your support, I know that the family would be very thankful! Bless you all!

Sad for your loss
by: Anonymous

I cannot express the sadness I feel for you for the loss of your precious son. We lost our 13 year old daughter to a drunk driver on December 16, 2008. I pray that you have the support of friends and family and the love and strength that God has given to us during our grieving process. We will keep you in our prayers. We have found that remembering the happy times has helped us through the sadness of not having our daughter with us anymore. Stick together.

Sorry for your loss!
by: Dennis Mitchell

I know there are no words that can ease your pain because your loved one is gone, as I read Treyton's story it stirred up my own pain from losing my son at 5.

It's great that the high school formed a SADD Chapter. All high schools and middle schools should have a SADD Chapter, its' the best group to help change attitudes and prevent youth from making destructive decisions.

I will pray for you and your family that God provides you with a quantum of solace during these most difficult times.

In Sympathy,

Dennis Mitchell
