Chills
by: Anonymous

I got chills from reading this story; I am a mother of two and hope I am never ripped away from my children, especially in this way. I am giving a speech to college students this week on the effects of drinking and driving. I plan to share your story with them, and hope that this young family?s story will be heard and spread throughout my community to help prevent this from ever happening again. God bless your family, and my prayers will be with you, your, and especially with little Mya.

I agree
by: Bernice

I'm very sorry about your lost. I truly agree with you. I don't think they should get such a light sentence because they were intoxicated. People get a heavier sentence for fighting dogs. I'm tired of people making excuses for irresponsible individuals. You drink and drive deal with the real consequences. They are stealing lives because of their stupidity. I am disgusted by that. Again, I am deeply sorrowed by your lost and my prayers will be with you and your family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Your daughter and her boyfriend did not "lose their lives", they had them stolen by a thoughtless and careless individual, who cared more about having a good time than he did about human life. Personally, I do not understand why drunk drivers get such light sentences. Serial killers get life sentences for muder. If you kill someone becuz you were driving drunk, you have murdered, and should receive the same as any murderer, and I DO NOT CARE how much remorse the drunk driver shows. May God bless you and your family, and be with you in your time of need. Seek him through salvation thru Christ.

This was a very heartbreaking story. Being a mother of a child around the age of mya it just breaks my heart to think that a child should have to endure what happened. My heart goes out for the family. It is really said that this sick man wasn't charged with more. He didn't just kill one person but three. Six years is a little light in my eyes.
This happens a lot in court I think. I wonder what would happen if it was the district attorney's family or the acting judge's family that was killed. I can bet the sentencing would be a hell of a lot longer

Alcohol-related deaths are not accidental crashes, but pre-meditated murder
by: Anonymous

I agree with your bottom line - drunk driving and drinking while driving is a choice - not an accident. Furthermore, it is pre-meditated.
