An alleged drunken driver has been charged with manslaughter after Nassau County police said he struck and killed a 34-year-old motorcyclist in Hempstead early Tuesday morning.
Homicide Squad detectives said he was driving a 1964 Chevrolet northbound in the southbound lane of Greenwich Street when he crashed into a Suzuki motorcycle driven by William Escobar 34-year-old at 12:36 a.m.
The victim, a Hempstead resident, was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the 35-year-old Roosevelt man continued driving with the motorcycle stuck to the front of his car before coming to a stop.
Investigators said he was also in possession of marijuana.
