Hi , My name is Wendy Escobar , William was the oldest of four. Mothers name is Romilia Escobar. William just turned 34 on May 26,. He was a mechanic who knew all about autos and motorcycles at a young age. William got his first bike in his early twenties. Well that Monday night around 11:40pm ,he was heading to Freeport to watch some bikers race in a open area. Thats what he told my mother before he left the house. My mother remembers that she gave him his blessing because he asked her for it. He was heading east bound on Greeneich st. toward Milburn st. They say there was little to no traffic at the time. William was not speeding and I know that he must of seen the car coming west bound about 500 yard away, with no head lights on. William would of never thought that the person all of a sudden would go on east bound lanes against traffic and toward William! My brother had no chance to move away ! The car hit him at a fast speed William landed on the hood of the1964 light blue Cheverlet and bounced off and flew about 20 ft and landed at a fork on a grassy area in between Greenwich st. and Milburn st. and died instantly. the driver of the car after hitting William drove for a good distance toward Willow st. w/ the motorcycle still attached to the front end of the car before coming to a stop. my brother was pronounced died at 12:36am. Police said the driver was drunk and was found w/ illegal marajuana in his car . The driver was charged w/ about 5 charges include manslughter. The sad thing about it is that William know so many people. Also the driver who killed him. We lost our son , brother and friend . To alcohol and stupidity of the driver! We love you Willie Esco. R.I.P. born 5/26/77 - and was taken from us 7/12/11.
