On April 24,2014 my beloved nephew Jared Hill was drinking and driving with a few friends when he lost control of his grandpas truck while driving fast on a wash board dirt road. Only one passenger was wearing his seatbelt and the other two got ejected from the vechicle.

The friend ran 2.5 miles to get help after covering his friend with his jacket. Jared was pronounced dead at the scene. The other person who was ejected from the vechicle was flown out to Albuquerque UNM hospital where he stayed for a month or so before going through rehabilitation. He fractured 3 vertebrae and under went surgery but lucky enough he survived.

Jared was 20 years old who was leaving to Roswell NM to further his education, we were shocked to hear the news because Jared was the least likely person to drink and drive.

So please talk to your kids about drinking and driving. We miss our sonny boy each and every day but we’re slowly learning to deal with the situation and we wish each day that he’ll walk through the door.

I thank god for the 20 wonderful years he gave us to live with one of his guardian angel Jared.
