It was the middle of the night, I was pregnant with my now almost 20 year old son. His Auntie, who he will never know as normal, since she was brain damaged in this accident, lived, after her head hit a telephone pole in a convertible Mustang. The five girls all drunk, on their way to Taco Bell lost control of the car, it began to slip sideways,…sliding out of control, AngieI believe her name was-underage drinker and driver w/no license in her daddy’s carhit two sisters crossing the street, one pregnant. They were thrown into a garage door nearby and killed.
Tina is brain damaged to this day, my x sister in law. She was drunk as the girl driving. She was 18 or 19, had just gotten her own apartment, moved out, and like so many other teens, started partying. After the two sisters and baby were hit and killed, the car slammed into a telephone pole and Tina’s head hit the pole. The doctors told us she would probably not survive. Her parents were camping at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA. So her friends banged on our door in the middle of the night to find someone to tell us about the accident.
Tina’s parents were picked up at the campground by their son, my now x, and his cousin Rick. They all drove to Scripps Hospital in San Diego.
The family of the two girls crossing the street: I don’t know what their night was like, but they had three deaths that night in their family. This night will always be in my memory.
Angie, the underage drinker w/no license, not sure what her fate was. I think she went to jail, but I don’t think she served much time for killing three people.
Our society pushes smoking, drinking and sex. Our society has left Jesus and become a generation of SELFLESS people. I should have held a much tighter reign with my three children. Today, as they are all almost 20 and over, I pray on my face for them each day…that they would not make the same mistakes. JESUS in their lives, God in children’s lives, the power of God in our kids lives will be their hope. Their salvation. Don’t ever let anyone tell you you are a Jesus freak. Knowing Jesus Christ in a personal way and having the POWER OF GOD in your live is the most essential thing a person could give their kids.
Ephesians 6
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
I don’t have a photo online of Tina or of the two sisters who were killed.
